The more we think about this project, the more excited we become. The pictures on this page are a portal to our life as it is right now, before the vines are planted, sitting around a table coming up with plans (and dreams). I think planting the vines will change a lot, but most of all it will turn a few of our dreams into a reality. For Chris, it is the idea of transforming this old family farm into something better than it has been; getting rid of some difficult experiences this piece of land has been through, and opening it up to new and positive possibilities. For me, it is actually the dream of starting a vineyard. I remember driving around the Santa Barbara and San Ynez vineyard country in graduate school and asking myself how I could do this. Then it was a passing thought that would leave my head as I opened the car door and headed to my next destination. Now it is the year before it becomes a reality. - Melissa, June 9th 2021.
